Our Mission

The Mount strives to equip and empower first-year students at the University of Florida and Santa Fe College by uniting the body of Christ-seeking students to further the Kingdom of God.

The two-fold purpose of The Mount Retreat is centered upon "community and commission." We are seeking to glorify God by getting students plugged into faith-based community, so they will be equipped to pursue a personal relationship with the Lord, empowered to follow the Great Commission, and united with their brothers and sisters in Christ from a variety of organizations.

Our Vision

The Mount seeks to ease the transition to college by providing an atmosphere of encouragement and support, while exposing students to the potential of a life dedicated to passionately pursuing God and living for the good of others.

The retreat hopes to:

EMPOWER all students to pursue a personal relationship with Christ throughout college

ENCOURAGE incoming students to be firmly rooted in the Word of God and unwavering in their strive for God’s glory

ENABLE incoming students to effectively bear fruit on campus in a variety of mission field

EQUIP incoming students to serve, to love and to share the gospel boldly with friends and classmates

CONNECT the students to local churches and campus ministries, in order to further help them become true and faithful disciples of Christ

CREATE an environment for students to form lasting friendships with other Christ-seeking first-year students and upperclassmen

UNITE the body of Christ in Gainesville, FL, as campus ministries and local churches gather with the sole mission of getting every student connected in a meaningful way somewhere

SPARK a revival in the culture on UF and Santa Fe campuses, setting God as the firm foundation of every student’s calling for their ministry

GLORIFY God in every aspect of its existence


Founding Scripture

“On the Mount of the Lord, it shall be provided.” Genesis 22:14
